A hotel manager, identified only as Hadock, who was abducted by some gunmen in Supare-Akoko in the Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State, has been released.
However, a yet-to-be-identified lodger, who was a guest at a funeral in the town and was abducted along with Hadock, was still being held by the gunmen who attacked the hotel on Saturday.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, said the freed manager had been arrested for interrogation, adding that he was assisting the command in its investigation.
He said, “The return of the manager is suspicious, so we have arrested him. He is helping us in our investigation; the circumstances surrounding his return are being investigated. The manner in which he returned is raising a suspicion of conspiracy. As soon as we are done with investigation, we will let the public know.”
A police source said the kidnappers had yet to contact the family of the victim.
