Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has promised to deal decisively with anyone caught fuelling insecurity in the state by arming the youth to perpetuate evil.
Bello made the promise when the leadership of the Ebira Peoples Association hosted him at the Bristol Palace Hotel in Kano, capital of Kano State.
The governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, said that his administration had decided to take the issue of security of lives and property in Kogi State seriously and so, he would not relent until those trying to retool enemies of the state were made to face the full wrath of the law.
Appealing to the people of the state for support, he said, “It is our collective destiny to change the narratives about our society. We can collectively determine the prism by which we are judged by outsiders, the onus is on us to always show our good side at all times.”
Bello described the Ebira people as enterprising and passionate and urged them to continue to show exemplary character in their host communities.
He also expressed his gratitude to the association for the support he had enjoyed since his assumption of office as governor.
