The Nigerian Navy will soon be deploying several warships and helicopters to participate in a multinational sea exercise code name ‘Obangame’.
In the five-day long sea exercise, the Nigerian is expected to play host to navies from countries like US, Ghana,.Togo, Benin Republic, Senegal, Cameroon, among others.
About 22 countries are expected to take part in the sea exercise which will be held around the Gulf of Guinea.
The Director of Information of the Nigerian Navy, Commodore Suleiman Dahun, disclosed this yesterday on his facebook page.
He said: “The Nigerian Navy will be hosting a multinational naval exercise in Nigerian waters from 15 – 20 March 2019.The Exercise called OBANGAME involves navies in the Gulf of Guinea, European and US Navy. The aim of the exercise is to deepen cooperation amongst Gulf of Guinea navies.”
