A dusk to dawn curfew has been imposed in Jalingo by Taraba State Government over attacks that trailed the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections held in the state on Saturday.
The curfew was announced in a statement issued by Mallam Hassan Mijinyawa, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Darius Ishaku.
Daily Trust reports that the attack was targeted at Hausa and Fulani residents in Sabon Gari, NTA area, Yama Salla, Saminaka and many other areas of the metropolis.
It was gathered that houses, shops and vehicles belonging to the residents were either destroyed or burnt down.
Soldiers, police and civil defence were seen patrolling the town.
Hundreds of residents had fled to neighbouring villages and towns for safety.
