The International Peace Commission (IPC), one of the accredited election observers, yesterday last Saturday’s governorship and state assembly elections in Yobe State were peaceful and credible.
The leader of the organisation’s team, Olumuyiwa Onlede, who presented the “Electoral Observation Mission Report of Yobe State” in Abuja, said the elections were peaceful and credible.
He said: “Generally the election was peaceful, free and fair, no evidence of vote buying, no harassment by security agents before, during and after the election. All security agents on election duties conducted themselves professionally, voters conducted themselves in orderly manner while agents of different political parties related with each other as families.
“Citizens and residents of Yobe that consist of different tribes were eager and ready to cast their vote for different candidates of their choice,” he said.
