Four suspected cases of Cerebroý-Spinal Meningitis (CSM) recorded in Bauchi State said, the Bauchi State Government. Mr Adamu Gamawa, the Executive Chairman, Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BSPHCDA), has confirmed the outbreak to newsmen in Bauchi on Thursday.
Gamawa said one of the suspected cases was confirmed to be a Streptococcus Pneumonia, a strain which does not cause an epidemic. He added that one other case was under investigation as samples had been taken for analysis to confirm whether it is meningitis or another disease. He however advised residents to avoid sleeping in crowded and unventilated rooms to avoid contracting the disease.
He urged the people to quickly report any noticed case of abnormality in their body to the nearest health facility. (NAN)
