A Super Falcons player, Francisca Ordega, has tackled a football fan over his criticism of her performance at the 2019 Women’s World Cup group stage match on Saturday, which Norway won 3-0.
The fan, @Hedrizsneh, in a tweet, had said, “This girl wearing attachment vexed me the most in that game. You are doing make-up to play on the field, painting your nails. That long hair did not allow her to run well. We played well but we defended poorly.”
Ordega, via her verified handle, @OrdegaF, however, responded, “Hey you, I mean you. The girl with the attachment was me and I see no reason why my own attachment and make-up is your problem.
“And if at all it is, then please unplug your TV and never watch again because I will do more of that in the next game. So, be ready to see more.”
Former champions Norway had kicked off their Women’s World Cup campaign last Saturday with a confident 3-0 victory over Nigeria, despite the absence of Ballon d’Or winner Ada Hegerberg.
