The Country Director of the British Council, Lucy Pearson, says the council touched the lives of over 50million Nigerians last year through direct and indirect engagements and partnerships with local and other international organizations.
She said this in a chat with Daily Trust in Lagos during the gala night to mark the 75-year anniversary of British Council in Nigeria.
According to her, the organization will continue to forge partnerships with reputable local and international bodies, institutions to touch the lives of millions of Nigerians.
The engagements with Nigerians, she said, were made possible through digital and social media platforms which have helped in deepening connections with different segments of the Nigerian people.
She said the council had partnered with many Nigerians doing great exploits and engaging in skills development for children and the kids.
She said the council’s presence and activities in Nigeria were laced with “fantastic stories of inspiration of people doing great things.”
The Operations Director of the council, Stephen Forbes, said the council had been consistent in its interventions in Nigeria, adding that it had deepened friendly relations among peoples in Nigeria and the UK.
