The Nigerian Medical Association, Oyo State chapter on Wednesday lamented the growing menace of quackery among the medical practitioners in the country.
The Chairman of Oyo NMA, Dr Akin Sodipo said the association would set up an anti-quackery crack team to check the unscrupulous act.
Dr Sodipo stated this at a press briefing to mark the 2019 scientific conference and annual general meeting of the association in Ibadan.
While lamenting the insecurity in the country, the chairman also stressed that the association is stepping up sensitisation of her members on the subject of insecurity.
On the state of health in the state, Dr Sodipo lamented the deplorable health sector which must be revived to have a healthy populace.
He decried that the association tried unsuccessfully to ensure health facility and monitoring accreditation under the Senator Abiola Ajimobi administration urging Governor Seyi Makinde to ensure only qualified people run hospitals in the state.
