The Assistant Chief Imam of Nawair-ur-deen Society of Nigeria, Lagos branch, Alhaji Arogunmasa Sikirullah, gave the advice in his lecture at the maiden edition of Nawair-ur-Deen Comprehensive College, Idi-Oro, Musin, Lagos graduation.
He said that a child morally brought up would be more useful to the society and would be a pride to his family.
Alhaji Arogunmasa stated that parents must give their children sound academic education so that they would be useful to the society.
The Guest Lecturer also stressed the need for parents to limit their children access to the internet by censoring the sites they visit.
In his contribution, the Vice Chairman of Nawir-ur-Deen Comprehensive College Board, Alhaji Abdulquadir Koleosho, said that it was important for parents to keep in touch with their children’s school so that they would know about the academic performances of their children.
He commended the teachers of the school for their commitment to the children’s education, especially in the area of Islamic instruction.
Alhaji Koleosho called on the government to intensify effort on improving the curriculum now in use in schools and increase the funding of public schools.
In his remark, the Vice Principal of the school, Mr. Jatoola Mohammed Lawal, charged the outgoing students not to relent in their efforts to acquire more knowledge.
