Ekiti State Commissioner for Investment, Chief David Olusoga, said on Wednesday the state government had entered into partnership with Promasidor Nigeria Limited to revive Ikun Dairy Farm in the state.
Olusoga said resuscitation of the dairy farm in the Moba Local Government Area would create employment for the people of the state.
The commissioner said in a chat with journalists in Ado Ekiti, “Government is partnering one of the international milk production companies, Promasidor, to revive the Ikun Dairy Farm, while more conducive atmosphere for the effective take-off, such as water, energy and good road network will be provided by government.”
Olusoga said, “The steps will attract more investors that will make use of the by-products of the companies, thereby reviving the near comatose State of Ekiti economy. The governor is working towards ensuring that the state ceases to depend on federal allocation to run its economy through industrialization.”
The commissioner said the state government would soon train about 2000 youths on entrepreneurial and vocational skills that would guarantee self employment, adding that funds would be made available in form of loans in partnership with some financial institutions.
