Nigerians have been urged to always see reasons to appreciate God, no matter their situation.
General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, stated this while delivering a sermon on Sunday during the 11th Convocation of Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State.
The clergy said act of thanksgiving in obedience brings peace of mind.
Reading a passage taken from the Book of Luke, Chapter 17, verse 11, the clergy, in the sermon titled: “Just one more step,” said out of ten lepers that received healing from Jesus, only one returned to him to express gratitude.
Adeboye said besides the healing that he received, the Samaritan leper that returned to Jesus in appreciation also got wholeness.
“The lesson here is that in all situations, give thanks. When things are going as planned, give thanks; when things are not moving according to plans, give thanks. In thanksgiving, we receive peace of mind.
“Thanksgiving touches the heart of God, it is a good act, a right step. It is a step of faith that will always attract good rewards. Even when you don’t understand need for it, give thanks,” Adeboye said.
Represented by Pastor Israel Abatan, Adeboye said act of gratitude brings miracles and charged people to always see reasons to appreciate God for them to receive more favours from Him.
