Remain focused, blind cleric, Kasali, tells S’West govs
As states in the South-West zone hold public hearing on Amotekun Corps on Monday, a blind cleric and general overseer, Hour of Mercy Prayer Ministry, Worldwide, Prophet Moses Kasali, has advised the six governors in the South-West region to ensure that the security outfit did not derail.
Kasali described the idea of the security outfit and the steps being taken to legalise as the best thing to have happened in the country in recent times.
Ekiti State House of Assembly had passed the bill for the establishment of the corps while it is still at different stages at the legislative houses of Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, Osun and Lagos states.
A statement by the church made available in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, stated that the cleric spoke during the ongoing annual Alaseyori 30-day fasting and prayer programme of the church at the headquarters of the church in Ibadan.
Kasali said, “It should be strictly for the security and protection of lives and property of the people. Their operatives should not be used for political activities which conventional police should be engaged for.”
He disagreed with calls in some quarters that the President, Major General Buhari (retd) should resign over insecurity in the country, saying his resignation would not solve the country’s myriad of problem.
He queried, “If Buhari resigned from the position, who will take over? It is God who puts all leaders in positions of authority. All we need to do is to come together in unity and go to God in prayers and intercede for our country. If the President is helpless about our problems, only God can solve it.”
