Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has terminated the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor of the Prince Abubakar Audu University, Ayingba, Prof. Mohammed Abdukadir and the rector of the state polytechnic, Lokoja, Prof. M.S. Atureta.
The duo alongside the Medical Director of the state specialist hospital had been on suspension since February for allegedly failing to abide by the Treasury Single Account policy of the state government.
A statement issued on Tuesday in Lokoja, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Folashade Ayoade, stated that the governor had also approved the appointment of Prof. Marietu Tenuche as the acting VC of the university.
“In the same vein, Governor Bello approved the appointment of Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman as the acting Rector of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, with immediate effect,” the statement added.
Tenuche has been a two-time Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the institution before this new development.
