The Nasarawa State Police Command has rescued 17 kidnapped victims, after pressure was mounted on the unidentified gunmen.
It was gathered that the kidnapped victims were abducted in the Gwargwada-Sabo community in the Gadabuke Development Area of the State while observing Isha'i prayers in a mosque.
The victims were three ladies and 13 male adults.
According to one of the victims, he said the abductors requested for N2.2m, and food items. He added that some families who couldn't pay the ransom, were requested to pay in terms of grains for their freedom.
He also added that they had informants, on the financial status of their victims.
The Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Ramhan Nansel, stated that, “The command is not aware if ransom was paid. What I have to say is that the victims were released from the kidnappers’ den following high pressure mounted on them by police personnel, who were hunting them."
The victims were said to be a library official attached to the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
