One of the #EndSARS demonstrators, Eromosele Adene has been acknowledged to bail.
The Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba presided by O.A. Salawu on Tuesday ruled against the police motion seeking to remand Adene for an extra 30 days.
The policemen had on November 7 arrested Eromosele in his Ikeja resident and was flown to Abuja last Monday and brought back again to Lagos on Sunday.
On Monday, the police had addressed the court to seek an order to remand him for 30 days more despite spending 12 days in their custody.
To support their motion at the resumed proceedings on Tuesday, the prosecutor told the court that the application was to investigate Eromosele, adding that the remand of the protester was in the interest of the state.
However, the defence counsel, Tunde Jinadu, urged the court to reject the police application, adding that the application was executive recklessness and legislative rascality.
Salawa in his judgment admitted Eromosele to bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum adding that one of the sureties must own a property in Lagos.
