Thieves ransack offices in the Federal Secretariat in Calabar, Cross River State, carting away valuable items on Tuesday.
They were said to be masked and 16 in number.
They attacked the security guard on night duty and tied him up.
Some workers who arrived in the morning who found out their offices burgled said “the robbers used a long rope to tie the only security personnel on duty before operating.”
The workers also decried the lack of security at the complex and wondered why more security guards could not be employed.
One of the workers said, “This is not the first time that thieves have invaded and looted this complex.
“We hear that when the thieves beat up the night guard stripped him naked and tied him up before proceeding into offices to steal valuable properties.”
