An angry mob has set another suspected motorcycle ablaze of suspicious theft in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The suspect, whose identity could not be immediately found out, was said to be captured in the Ilode area of Ile-Ife by some commercial motorcyclists after he had successfully snatched a motorcycle.
On Friday, December 4, 202 two men, who allegedly snatched a motorcycle in the Lagere area of Ile-Ife, were set ablaze by okada riders.
Also, on Thursday, December 10, two women alleged to be kidnappers, were also burnt to death in Iwo.
The latest incident, which was the third case of jungle justice in the state in the last nine days, occurred on Sunday, when the okada riders descended on the suspect and beat him to a pulp before setting him ablaze.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the incident on Monday, said the suspect was set ablaze before the arrival of policemen.
She said, “From available information, one suspected armed robber was arrested at Oke-Igbo, Ilode area of Ile-Ife, after he had snatched a motorcycle from a man.
“He was pursued and arrested by a group of okada riders and was subsequently set ablaze before the arrival of policemen.”
