A fatal road accident claim three people’s life, while 33 sustained injuries on Gwachipe Bridge in the Lambatta, Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State.
The accident which occurred around 12 pm was learnt that a speeding trailer going to Lagos from Kano lost control and crashed on the bridge.
It was learnt the vehicle had 36 passengers on board including the driver.
It was reported that the Suleja-Lambata outpost route of the Federal Road Safety Corps carried out the rescue exercise and conveyed the victims to hospital.
The Niger State Sector Commander, Joel Dagwa, said the crash was an unaccompanied accident which involved a commercial trailer without number plate.
Dagwa explained that 36 people, comprising 25 male adults, seven female adults, two male children and two female children were involved in the accident, stating that 30 people were injured while three male died.
He, however disclosed that the victims were taken to the Federal Medical Center in Gawu Babangida, while corpses were taken to Sabon Wuse Mortuary.
